My friend asked me if I could take some photos of Kaamos and Meital sleeping in the same bed, awww! I want to, but before that I should make some sleepwear for uncle K and make a bed prop. I think it's a sweet idea, though <3

But I did take some romantic photos today of my old couple. I wanted to take more, but the light just vanished somewhere...damn the winter! Anyway, here's some Meital and Kaamos:

Ehm, sorry about that silly star censorship xD; I don't really like posting doll nudity in public where they are "in character" :x Even though Sadol's body is very pretty.

To be honest, as I looked through the photos on my computer, I realized that the candlebra was maybe a bad idea. Oh well, it's too late now xP

But hey, Kaamos has these cool duck slippers he wears at home xD I think they're a birthday gift from Meital. Quack quack!

Glitterfingers!

Whoops, forgot to post these here as well xD; I did a customization project and painted Shimral's fingers with various nail art glitters and gloss.

Actually it wasn't as simple as I thought xD; Those large flakes had to be individually attached with a small brush as they just floated around otherwise, and these took about four layers of gloss. But I like the result! I thought that as Shimral's character is a mage, he has a bad habit of handling magical items with his bare hands xD Tsk tsk.

And Liduse got a new again again through a trade. It's Leeke's Pale Turquoise, and it fits her very well...just like all pastel colours. Luckily I just got rid of most of my extra doll wigs, so I can hoard more :D

Happy holidays to all my readers <3 I originally wanted to make something Christmassy here as well, but I've been sick, busy with my job and there is a depressing, dark weather outside with no snow :< But maybe my pastel dolls will sparkle enough for Christmas? xD

Christmas girl

I picked up my Otogi no Kuni Nina from the post office yesterday <3 She's super cute! I had no time nor energy to document her arrival very well, but you can look at Sherimi's blog post if you want to see more how these releases look like :3 Nina is very similar. The extra hands are a nice bonus - and useful as I almost broke her other default hand while removing it >_> Azone XS hands are really fragile :( I don't think I'll ever touch them again unless absolutely needed xD

But here she is! Cute and somehow very Christmas-like <3 (Must be the colour of her dress.) I named her Siru which means "Chip" in Finnish, because she's quite small. Siru was also the official name of our mouse baby which passed away, so I thought I could use that name as a memory <3 (Yeah, I'm bit sentimental like this...)

I'll see what I can come up with Siru! I really like her default style, but of course she could always use for more stuff...

Whoops, I forgot to post my recent Shimral photos here. Let me fix that!

I really like this boy <3 Spiritdoll's Proud body is so nice; I love the contrast it brings to his pastel hair and maybe slightly feminine face xD And hey, grey resin and pink hair...it's an awesome combo. I tried grey and black wigs on him, and it was just too dark.

He could use some body blushing (I ordered materials to make something bit different and SPARKLY) and a new wig - I love this one, but alas, it's bit too small for Spiritdoll's larger head and stays on with violence and a prayer xD Projects ahead!

About Etsy and other stuff

Hello! Just a quick heads-up that I've temporarily converted all my Etsy items into free shipping :3 There is a catch though - our postal service Posti is having various strikes, and the delivery times are something I cannot predict. And with Christmas shopping season ahead...grrrrh. It's not looking very bright at the moment :< I've been waiting for some packages for weeks now.

Thanks to this situation I'd now rather avoid sending anything via mail until it clears up a bit :( Luckily I have no dolls coming, but one little Nendoroid is somewhere out there. Hope he makes through this chaos and comes home soon!

Attack of the pastel kitties!

Today a dolly friend came over and brought her two Pipos kitties along <3 Malva was thrilled to have some pastel playmates, and of course I had to take some photos:

Augh, this cranberry Ringo. I want one too ;3; I thought I had gotten over the urge, but now when I saw one IRL, the need is strong, I tell you!

New Pipos mint resin vs. the old one. Mimosa is darker than Malva and has different hands and tails.

Meital was ready to adopt them all right away xD Well, she loves kitties more than anything. Sadly Mimosa and Alma already have an owner, so she'll just have to do with Malva alone :P

Luckily these photos cheered up an otherwise sucky day ;_; Our little baby mouse is really sick, she has something wrong with her tummy. It might be a bowel obstruction or something she was born with and triggered by moving to a new pack. Or in worst case, a tumour, which unfortunately means only one thing. I try normally not get too emotional with mice, because they are fragile creatures and live just one or two years. But little Rúndís is just eight weeks old, she's just a pup :( It just feels so unfair. Right now she's in a separate cage, loaded with pineapple (it should help with her bowel system), nutrition gel, food and easy access to water. I hope she makes it ;3;

Edit: Unfortunately she had to be put to sleep this morning ;_; Rest in peace, little sweetie! ;3;

Upcoming Azones!

Yeah, I've been playing with my BJDs again, but I surely haven't forgotten my Neemos. Azone did a naughty thing and released some of my favourite girls in their Otogi no Kuni - series. So I have some new girls coming!

Although I can't say I'm a big fan of the original fairy tale, this version of Chiika hit home. A smiling version with a cute bob hair! <3 I promised to do a split so I won't get her clothes. She's so adorable though ^3^

And finally my own Nina ;3; I almost missed the preorders, but luckily Amiami got some more. Again a cute girl with brown bob hair...haha. I think she will be Chiika's little sister. To continue with Otogi no Kuni's theme, I want an old fairytale theme for both of them. Dusty books, natural colours, old stuff...something like that. Azone's own stylings are so good!

New dolls, yay! <3

A warrior with a half-bun

The boys' photos continue! This time I took out Adriel (Iplehouse Bichun) whose new wig came in the mail. It's a cheap Chinese one - actually I want him an alpaca wig with a sidecut, but I probably should make it myself and that might take a while xD; So now he has at least something that fits his character:

Sorry about boring photos; he's currently very loosely strung and very frustrating to pose. Well, I think Iplehouse's EID guys are always like that xP I've ordered some 5mm rubber string and silicone baking sheet so I could re-string and suede him hardcore. Yes, stuff like this. I thought to cut some strips and hotglue them in his largest joints, as his joints are pretty bad.

And when it's done, I think he needs a new faceup, the old one is getting worn out. I thought I could at least try it myself - I suck at making fine thin lines, but I think he might get away without them. He'll be quite the project, but I'm not giving up on him easily!

Honestly I've thought of selling him many times, but there's just something in his gentle eyes which no other sculpt seem to have. And his tan colour is just right, so I'm willing to try to fix his issues :)

A librarian in the woods

I took down my boys' clothing box and re-dressed some in warmer clothes - and right now they inspire me again <3 My boys are forever doomed to get less attention than the girls...I just like girl dolls better xD But on the other hand I'm much better writing male characters, so I guess it's quite even in the end.

But as they now have some new clothes, I thought to give 'em some well-deserved camera time. The first victim is Niko (CP Dreaming Shiwoo) in his new rRabit gear :3 He's technically my first SD and one of my dearest characters:

I really like how his new glasses give him a little Harry Potter vibe - suits him well <3

Speaking of stories, I thought to participate in this year's Nanowrimo in my own way. 30k words by the end of the year, I can't finish them in November alone, too much to do. We'll see how this goes! I've missed writing so much ;_; Are you guys doing Nanowrimo too?

Autumn redhead

I took Amita outside today, thinking I could take some pretty autumn photos. Well, it wasn't that easy - the moist autumn air made my eyeglasses quite steamy so it was pretty hard to see properly. I had to delete so many photos just because the focus was on everything else than where it should have been ^^; (I use manual film camera lenses with adapters so no choice but to focus manually, haha.)

Luckily I did take a lot of pictures so I got at least something to show. And Amita is a patient and pretty model:

I finally finished her sweater too - it took quite a while because of the very small gauge. I made some braids in the sleeves, and they were actually really simple to do. I think I'll start making them more often now :3 I'm still planning to decorate this once the ribbons I ordered online arrive home. It definitely needs beads, lace and ribbon embroidery ^3^

I also ordered new parts from Little Monica to replace some of Amita's most yellowed parts. Luckily the worst yellowing is in her torso and hands, and LM sells them as separate parts, yay. This was also a good opportunity to upgrade her into a smaller breast size. Haha, there is nothing wrong with large breasts but maybe these old ones are bit too big for her body and character in general...

Some sanding and blushing ahead, then, once they arrive. Woop!

Winter princess

I took some more photos of Meital today, as I changed her into some warmer clothes for the winter <3

And the household kitty, Mr. Paw! She loves all cats, even those who just happen to be nightmare demons xD

Adorable, no? :D Unfortunately I just have no funds to participate in this pre-order, but if they make another round next year, you bet I will be there! I want one for Meital - I think she'll start collecting all kinds of strange cats. I already have a name for one - (s)he would of course be Mulko as mulkoilla means "to glare" in Finnish :P

Ah, they're so cute...wish they didn't make all these cute dolls when I'm rather broke, boo :(

Werewolf – How has the hobby “transformed” you?
A lot. More than I dare to admit :P I used to be very lonely and sad, but this hobby gave me wonderful friends and lots of confidence - and made me realize that I actually am not shy at all at heart. I just cannot relax unless it's people whom I trust with nerdy interests :P
I also had 0% crafting skills before I started this hobby. Everything I now know of sewing, crafting and knitting, I've learned through doll hobby.

Vampire – The dreaded sun! How do you feel about and cope with yellowing, or more generally the aging of these dolls?
I have many older dolls and yes, they've yellowed, some more than others. Well, it happens. I am not going to store my dolls in a sun-proof cabinet anyway xP When the yellowing gets too bad, I think I'll just re-buy some dolls in some "fresher" forms. And with some dolls you don't really see it - my oldest BJDs from 2006 look just fine to my eye ^^

Frankenstein’s Monster – Have you ever modded a doll? Tell us about it! If you could magically try any mod without fear of failure, what would you like to try?
I haven't, I don't really do such things apart from small body blushing and stuff. I'd mod my Epidia head to have wrinkles and her body looking more mature and aged. Some fat and stretch marks, yep. Her character is an older lady, a mother of three kids - it bothers me that's she so young-looking and thin. Dammit, I want a mature, respected lady :D

Zombie – Have you ever caught the Marketplace virus?? Name some unplanned purchases that jumped out and “infected” you?
Ahem, I have :D I've bought quite many dolls just because they were cute and a good deal. My Angelregion Ren was totally such a purchase, I bought her only because she was cheap and has lots of nostalgic value :P

Skeleton – What’s your favorite body sculpt? Forget heads!
Sadol's smaller girl body and Spiritdoll's Proud body are my favourites of my dolls. I also like SQLab's girl bodies but I don't own one...yet. Hehe.

Witch – Name some dolls that are magical! Seeing them on your dashboard inspires you! Can be general sculpts or specific dolls owned by talented friends.
Erm, so many *_* But I do love it when I spot well-presented Bluefairies, especially Pocketfairies!

Hum, not really. I already own my "grails" :D (Bluefairy's WS May Valentine + tan Pocketfairy Didi).

Freddy Krueger – What is your worst doll nightmare? Has it happened or not?
Hum, maybe losing a doll very hard to get, like my Feeple 70cm body? No, it hasn't happened, thank gods.

Jason Voorhees – If you were gonna make Halloween costumes for your dolls (or if you plan to!) what costumes would you make?
I don't know...my doll characters are supernatural beings after all, so they don't really wear costumes. Some kigurumis would be fun though - if I could, I'd make a dragon kigurumi to Apsu, my Soom Lami ^3^

Chucky (possessed doll) – Have you ever been scared of dolls or a certain doll? Be honest!
Well maybe it's a good thing I don't watch horror movies, because no, not really. I do find some dolls, especially those old porcelain ones, creepy, but nothing really scares me.

Small boleros

I've been making small boleros for my Bluefairy PF Didi twins, so I took some quick shots:

I used 1.5mm needles and these Chinese yarns again. They're excellent for doll knitting, by the way, cheap and last forever. I've made a SD-sized sweater out of one skein :D If there only were more colours...

My sweet lovebirds

I shot my oldest doll couple today to showcase their current look ^^ Can't believe they've been here since 2007! A lot has happened, but they still inspire me a lot with their very special relationship. So here goes, Kaamos and Meital in 2015, celebrating their 8th anniversary: (Although their characters are immortal beings so they've been together a very long time...)

I just randomly found this wig from my wig box ^^; It's an older Leekeworld green. Although I'm not sure if this is a permanent hairdo, I quite like it - and it helps to hide the way his monocle is attached :D

Ah, they're still very sweet after all the years ^^ <3
